A Carolyn by any other name...
2:33 PM, Wednesday, 5 September, 2007
Apparently I'm insecure, conservative and stupid.
Now I may call myself these things at various times but this would normally be because I do things like get a tattoo I can't see without a mirror, apply for jobs just for the sake of it and end up getting (and taking) them, and invite David Bowie to my wedding. Not for something as boring as changing my name when I get married. Wow.

The longest river in Africa...
I may be stupid but I can still make cheesy jokes!

Why are you getting sucked in by the obviously insecure, conservative and stupid journalist who is in denial about what choice actually means. How dare anyone tell you (or me) that we need to live our lives by her rules.

Well... I'd never use any of those words to describe you Mrs. M. And the words I would like to use to describe that journo/excuse for a woman probably shouldn't be written in cyberspace where impressionable kiddies might read them...

This journalist didn't even seem to have a point - she started writing about one thing and finished with another, with only a very tenious link between the two. I don't think that it's necessary to change names, but it's all about choice. And I seriously doubt that anyone who knows you would think you would change your name because someone TOLD you to. My response to that would be "what happened to the person who dared to TELL you to do something?"
