Lockdown

11:47 AM, Monday, 18 June, 2007

There's a gunman running around Melbourne at the moment.

The building that I work in (a women's resource centre) has gone into lockdown.

I started telling stories about running onto the balcony to see where the shots were coming from in Port Moresby, and watching the Benny Hill style chases around the university campus, and people didn't find it amusing.

Blimey Pinky - glad it all passed without incident. That sounds scary.

I was reading about Papua New Guinea birds of paradise in the Nat Geog today and thought about how cool it is to know someone who lived in Port Moresby for a while. I decided it was tres tres cool-ass cool.

Hi Sam! Oooooh the Birds Of Paradise are so beautiful, and I was even lucky enough to see them doing their fantastic display dancey thingy where they make their tails go crazy and big! So amazing! It is certainly tres tres cool-arse cool that I was lucky enough to live there for awhile. Hooray for living in Port Moresby! Hup hup, HOORAY!!!
